Gardeners new and old are invited to come in out of the heat and attend Linebaugh Public Library’s free Plant and Nature classes.

Linebaugh Public Library System began a new set of classes in January devoted to nature, gardening, plants, vegetables and more.

There have been classes on indoor plants, creating bird and butterfly gardens, composting, and self-watering vegetable gardens.

All classes are taught by Master Gardeners and have been coordinated by Rutherford County resident green thumb, Emily Arnold. Arnold has a degree in ornamental horticulture and landscape design as well as 30 years experience working with plants and flowers.

Classes are held on the last Saturday of each month in the Reading Room on the second floor. The next class will be held 10-11 a.m. July 25, when Don Richardson will discuss practical weed control.

All classes are free and open to the public; please bring a pen and paper. This program is being presented in conjunction with One Book.

Linebaugh Public Library is located at 105 W. Vine St. in Murfreesboro.
