Linebaugh offers online assistance for students

School is back in session.

Some may already be dreading the thought of homework and projects, but with the help of Linebaugh Public Library System’s online databases, students of all ages can have access to reliable sources that can be a great tool during the school year.

The Library’s online databases are free to use and provide a wide range of educational assistance on many different topics. Through these databases, students can find reliable resources such as:

• Articles from newspapers, scholarly journals, and news magazines
• Test preparation for ACT, SAT, GED, etc.
• A world atlas, encyclopedias, almanacs, and other reference sources
• An extensive collection of essays presenting multiple sides of current issues and controversial topics

All of these can be a huge help with papers, projects, tests, and many other assignments for students at any level.

“While an Internet search can turn up a lot of web pages, not all of the material found is good to use,” Reference Librarian Patty Metcalf said. “The Internet is filled with commercial and personal Web sites; fact isn’t always separated from opinion, and some information found on the Web can be hard to verify. These online databases provide valuable and reliable information for students to use in their homework assignments.”

To access these databases, simply go to the Library’s Web site, www.linebaugh.org, and click on “Find Articles and Databases.” Some of the databases require a library card, which is available free to all Rutherford County residents.

Linebaugh Public Library is located at 105 W. Vine St. in Murfreesboro. Additional branches are located in Murfreesboro, Smyrna, and Eagleville.

The Library is the cornerstone of our community, enriching lives through free resources for learning, fun, and opportunity. For more information, call 615-893-4131.
