Linebaugh Library wants to cultivate more green thumbs in Rutherford County. Gardeners new and old should don their Halloween costumes and attend Linebaugh Public Library’s free Plant and Nature classes.

Linebaugh Public Library System began a new set of classes in January devoted to nature, gardening, plants, vegetables, and more! There have been classes on indoor plants, creating bird & butterfly gardens, practical weed control, and self-watering vegetable gardens. All classes are taught by Master Gardeners and have been coordinated by Rutherford County resident green thumb, Emily Arnold. Ms. Arnold has a degree in ornamental horticulture and landscape design as well as 30 years experience working with plants and flowers.

Classes are held on the last Saturday of each month in the Reading Room (2nd Floor). Our next class will be held 10-11 a.m. on October 31, when Anna Paddon will discuss getting the most out of your garden's herbs before winter. All classes are free and open to the public; please bring a pen and paper. This program is being presented in conjunction with One Book of Rutherford County.

Linebaugh Public Library is located at 105 W. Vine St. in Murfreesboro. The Library is the cornerstone of our community, enriching lives through free resources for learning, fun, and opportunity. For more information, call 615-893-4131 or visit www.linebaugh.org.
