Lillie Mae Griffin, age 80, of Murfreesboro, passed away on January 14, 2010 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was a native of Davidson County but resided in Rutherford County for the past 27 years. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Baptist Church.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Elires Patton Morris, Sr. and Clara Balew Morris; husband, Hiram Clinton Griffin, Sr. and brothers, Roy Morris, Thomas Morris and Doug (Tutti) Morris. She is survived by her sons, Michael Preston (Wanda) Griffin, Sr. and step-son, Hiram (Caroline) Griffin, Jr.; brothers, Elires Morris of Nashville and Harold Morris of Dickson; sister, Edna Dorres of Greenbriar; 2 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.

A chapel service for Lillie will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Brother Tony Hutson officiating. Friends and family will serve as active pallbearers.
