Food Check-Out Week, Feb. 15-21, 2009, is a time when Farm Bureaus at the county, state and national level celebrate the abundance and safety of food. This year, in recognition of current economic conditions, the focus is "Stretching Your Food Dollar with Healthy, Nutritious Food." The new official theme reflects the fact that many Americans are feeling an economic squeeze and, as a result, are eating out less and preparing more meals at home.
America's farmers and ranchers are committed to producing safe, abundant and healthy food. The Rutherford County Farm Bureau Women will collect non-perishable food items for the Good Shepherd Children's Home as we celebrate Food Check-out Week.
