To the editor:

Mr. (Bill) Boner seems to be living on another planet if he believes his assertion that the downturn in the economy and in the housing-pricing sector has not affected property values in Rutherford County.  (Officials starting early on property reappraisals, 3/15/09)

I don’t think you would find many residents in the county that would argue otherwise.

Just ask any taxpayer on the street that has sold a piece of property in the last year or better yet ask anyone living on the street as of a result of the economy that has not affected Rutherford County as it has the rest of the country.

That records would be compared against values in the entire county instead of the area that the property is actually in is absurd and cannot possibly arrive at real values.

I really don’t care what his opinion is “To me in Rutherford County, its not like what you see in the news...” that this type of thought process is being applied to the public’s tax liabilities against their property is beyond comprehension.

Mr. Boner please leave your opinions out of the process and rely on real data.
