The Leonard Brothers Band

The Leonard Brothers Band is back by popular demand.

One of Murfreesboro’s favorite bands is playing a reunion show Dec. 27 at 527 Main Street music venue for their long-time fans.

The Leonard Brothers Band, made up of brothers Randy, Ricky, Mark and Gary plus lead singer Thane Shearon, began performing classic rock and roll in Murfreesboro and Nashville in the early ‘80s.

It’s the first time the band has performed for the public in 11 years.

Those not familiar with The Leonard Brothers Band should expect a high-energy show filled with rockin’ covers from the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company and The Allman Brothers.

Oh, also a standing-room-only crowd.

Around the holiday season, Randy, the eldest Leonard brother, said family and friends always request a show.

“This time of the year everyone worries us to death asking, ‘Are you going to play? Are you going to play?’ ” he said.

This year, the brothers and their childhood friends, decided to appease their fans.

“Plus, we have the urge to do it ourselves,” Randy said.

And the brothers, who will be joined on the stage by their father Floyd Leonard, are expecting to see many old friends that they haven’t seen in years.

“It is more like a class reunion-type party,” Randy said of the show.

Randy, who plays the bass, said he doesn’t like to perform anymore unless it is with his brothers.

“I have reached a point that if I don’t play with them, the fun is not there,” he said.

The Leonard Brothers have been rehearsing every week for months preparing for their Main Street show. It has gotten them to thinking that maybe they should get together more often.

I would go to a nightclub in Murfreesboro, where I am from, called "Tuxes", just to heAr Thane Sharron sing....I love the Leonard Brothers Band. The key board player(Mr.L) married my friend Susan's sis Missy Harrison.
I am also trying to locate Susan. It just tickled me to see the band's pic above. I took a chance and "googled" them......
