Advertisement for Bids for the Sinking Creek Wastewater
Treatment Plant (SCWWTP) Replacement of 250 HP Hi Service Pump #1 and 500 HP Hi Service Pumps #3 and #4
Sealed proposals, invited by the City of Murfreesboro, will be received by the Murfreesboro Water & Sewer Department Director at 220 NW Broad Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, until 2:00 p.m. CDT on, Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at which time they will be opened and publicly read aloud and the contract awarded as soon thereafter as practicable for the Sinking Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (SCWWTP) Replacement of 250 HP Hi Service Pump #1 and 500 HP Hi Service Pumps #3 and #4.  
The work will consist of furnishing all material, labor, and appliances for the installation and improvements to the Sinking Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant hi service pumping station, including new Wemco-Hidrostal pumps at pump locations #1 (250 hp), #3 (500 hp) and #4 (500 hp).  An existing twelve (12) ton crane is within the building to aid in the removal of the existing motors, pumps and fittings and the installation of the new pumps.  
A mandatory pre-bid will be conducted at the Sinking Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant on Thursday January 6, 2011 at 10:00 (see Special Condition No. 6 in Bid Documents).  The SCWWTP is located on 2032 Blanton Dr. Murfreesboro, TN.  Phone 615-848-3225.
Each bid must be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond executed by the Bidder and Surety Company authorized to transact business in the State of Tennessee, or by a cashier's or certified check on a duly authorized bank payable to the City of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, or a letter of credit from a local bank in the sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid as a guarantee that if the Bid is accepted, the required Contract will be executed and the required Performance Bond and Payment Bond furnished.  Said check or bond will be returned to the unsuccessful Bidder as soon as the Contract has been executed and the necessary bonds have been furnished, same have been approved, and the Contract has been executed by the City of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
All bidders must be licensed contractors as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1976 of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee and all acts amendatory thereof.  Bidder's name, address, license number, expiration date, that part of the classification applying to the Bid, and the date and time of Bid opening shall appear on the sealed envelope containing the Bid, and the envelope shall be plainly marked "Sinking Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (SCWWTP) Replacement of 250 HP Hi Service Pump #1 and 500 HP Hi Service Pumps #3 and #4."  No interlineations, additions, or deletions shall be made in the proposal form by the Bidder.
The City of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all Bids, to evaluate Bids, and to accept any Bid which in its opinion may be for the best interest of the Owner.  No Bids will be received or accepted after the above specified time for the opening of Bids.  Bids submitted after the designated hour will be deemed invalid and returned unopened to the Bidder.  No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
The successful Bidder for this Contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond, Payment Bond, cashier's check, or letter of credit in the total amount of his Bid with a corporate surety approved by the Owner for the faithful performance of the Contract.
Bid documents may be picked up on Monday, December 27, 2010, at the MWSD Engineering Annex Office, 220 NW Broad Street during the hours 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The Rutherford County Property Management Committee scheduled for Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. has been CANCELLED.  
The Rutherford County Steering Committee meeting scheduled for Monday, January 3, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. has been CANCELLED.
The Rutherford County Steering Committee will meet on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. to meet with the state legislators and conduct any other necessary business.
The meeting will be held in the historic Rutherford County Courthouse, Courtroom, Murfreesboro, TN.
In accordance with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), any disabled persons requiring accommodations for participation in the meeting should contact the County Mayor’s Office at 898-7745 at least two working days prior to the meeting in order that appropriate accommodations can be made.

In accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, the Rutherford County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee will hold a Public Meeting at the Rutherford County Emergency Management Agency, 1220 West College Street in Murfreesboro, on Wednesday, January 5th at 5:00pm for citizens to review and provide comment to the revised Rutherford County Hazard Mitigation.
