HOUSING RECONSTRUCTION The Tennessee Housing Development Agency has awarded a $300,000 HOME grant to the City of Murfreesboro to reconstruct six substandard, owner-occupied single-family residences. The Community Development Department will conduct a public meeting for those interested in the program at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at McFadden Community Center, 211 Bridge Avenue. Applicants must be income-eligible, have resided in the dwelling for not less than a year, be current on mortgage payments (if there is one) and city and county property taxes. The City’s financial assistance for projects selected is a no-interest, no-payment, 15-year forgivable loan. Applications will be ranked using the criteria in Section 4.2 of the Housing Rehabilitation Program Policies & Procedures Manual (available for review on the City Web site: www.murfreeborotn.gov.) Priority will be given to applications received on or before October 15, 2010.
