ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Murfreesboro, Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department Operations and Maintenance Facility, 1725 South Church Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 until 2:00 p.m., CST on Tuesday August 17, 2010 for the construction of Jordan Farm Drip Dispersal (3574 Leanna Road), located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The work includes the following elements:
This work includes the drip dispersal for Phase 1with 3 areas of 16 drip zones per area at 23,100 l.f. of drip emitter piping per zone, 3-4” tapping sleeves to existing reuse waterline, 4”and 6” common supply lines, 3”,4” and 6” flush return lines, valves, switch well 4 water sensors, under drains, zone markers for valves, underground electric/conduit, control panels, and related work and materials as shown on the Construction Plans, Engineering Report in Appendix and as listed in the Contract Documents.
Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents may be examined at 220 NW Broad Street Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department Annex Murfreesboro, TN; at SEC, Inc. (850 Middle Tennessee Blvd., Murfreesboro, Tennessee) Copies of these Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents may be obtained from SEC, Inc. upon payment of a non-refundable amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00).
A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 3, 2010 at Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department Operations and Maintenance Facility, 1725 South Church Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Representatives of OWNER and ENGINEER shall be present to discuss the project.
To demonstrate Bidder’s qualifications to perform the work, Bidder shall submit written information on present commitments and on experience. Regarding experience, submit listing of at least three (3) similar projects constructed by the Bidder within the last five (5) years. The list should include project name, project owner, and project owner’s contact and shall be submitted with bid package.
Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the bid price to guarantee that the bidder will enter into an acceptable contract under bond. A contract performance bond and payment bond of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. Contractor will be required to certify to a drug-free workplace as specified in the bid documents.
Payment will be made on the 15th day of each month on the basis of ninety five percent (95%) of the work completed during the previous month.
No bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of sixty (60) days after bids have been opened. The City of Murfreesboro reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities. Bidding shall be in accordance with the Tennessee General Contractor's License Law. Bidders on construction over the amount of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) must be licensed contractors as required by T.C.A. § 62-6-103. Bidders shall place their bid in an envelope showing the bidders name, license number, expiration date, and that part of classification applying to the bid in accordance with T.C.A. § 62-6-119. Bids not conforming to this provision shall not be opened or considered.

The Rutherford County Highway Commission will accept bids on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 7:00 A.M. at the office of Road Superintendent, 1510 Rutledge Way, Murfreesboro, TN. for the following items:
Painted Pavement Marking Lines, Crushed Stone
The bid will be for a period of one-year beginning: 08-02-10 to 07-31-11
Specifications can be picked up at the Road Superintendent’s office any working day (Mon.- Thurs. 6:30AM to 5:00PM) prior to bid opening date.
The Highway Commission reserves the right to accept any bid in their opinion to be the best, or to reject any or all bids.
