PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the City of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County are eligible to apply for a grant award of $62,626.00 from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) through the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), and the U. S. Department of Justice. The award would be made jointly to the City of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County to be used for law enforcement purposes. The award requires no local matching funds.
The City of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County have agreed to share the funds, with Murfreesboro receiving $31,313.00 and Rutherford County $31,313.00. The Murfreesboro City Council and the
Rutherford County Board of Commissioners have reviewed the terms and conditions of the application.
The Murfreesboro Police Department proposes to use the City’s share of the award to purchase a fully equipped police motorcycle and emergency equipment for police vehicles.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department proposes to use Rutherford County’s share of the award to purchase hand held radios to be incorporated with the newly revised communications center built by Motorola.
