|
Tropical Storm Lee is expected to gradually strengthen over the central and northern Gulf waters today and tonight as the system drifts north.
The projected landfall is along the Louisanna coast early Sunday morning.
Tropical storm Lee will continue to move north with moisture on the increase across Middle Tennessee on Sunday.
The tropical system will merge with a cold front and bring widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms to the mid-state by Sunday night.
The chance of rain will remain high on Labor Day into Monday night as the storm will be slow to move.
Rainfall amounts of 2-5 inches, and possibly as high as 7 inches in the extreme Southeast, are expected with this system.
This could lead to flash flooding and river flooding.
The heaviest rainfall is expected in the south and east. The chance of heavy rainfall will diminish by the middle of next week
