Beginning this month, UT/TSU Agricultural Extension agents team up with Wilson Bank & Trust to offer a series of free financial education sessions that are open to anyone in the community.
The classes will be held at 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays from Jan. 27 through Feb. 24 at Wilson Bank & Trust, 3110 Memorial Blvd. in Murfreesboro.
Every week through the end of February, a specific topic related to managing household finances. A complete schedule of classes is provided below, along with the topic to be covered on each date and the registration deadline.
Jan. 27: Budgeting Solutions (please register by Jan. 26) Feb. 3: Saving Solutions (please register by Feb. 2) Feb. 10: Credit Use & Fraud Solutions (please register by Feb. 9) Feb. 17: Investing Solutions (please register by Feb.16) Feb. 24: Smart Spending Solutions (please register by Feb. 23)
To register for any classes, contact Family and Consumer Science Extension Agent Pat Whitaker at 898-7710. More information is also available from Wilson Bank & Trust at 904-6350. Sessions will include refreshments and door prizes.
UT Extension staff members will lead the sessions that deal with budgeting, saving, credit and smart spending. A financial planning advisor from Raymond James Financial Services will lead the Feb. 17 session on investing.
