Ever wondered why there’s so much talk about “going green?”
Step off the bandwagon of the not-so-green movement and learn the best way to do your part of protecting the environment.
Mark your calendars for the upcoming “Greenwashing the Green Out of the Environment” presentations led by Rutherford County Environmental Educator Mimi Keisling.
“Many consumers try to make ethical choices,” Keisling said. “However, there is plenty of misleading and inaccurate information that may lead those consumers to make decisions that are harmful to our environment. I will review some common ways consumers may be led astray.”
Sessions will be held at Smyrna Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10 with a repeat session at Linebaugh Public Library at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12.
Keisling has served as the Rutherford County Environmental Education Coordinator since 2004, where she manages programs and presents information on topics such as recycling, solid waste reduction, composting and water quality education.
In addition, Keisling currently serves on the board of the Tennessee Recycling Coalition and recently served on the Department of Environment and Conservation Waste Reduction Task Force.
These presentations are free and open to the public and no pre-registration is required.
