Laura Jewell Alsup, age 83, of Lebanon, passed away on February 19, 2010 at her residence. She was a native of Rutherford County and owner/operator of Alsups grocery in the vine community for over 60 years. She was a member of the Hebron Church of Christ.
Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Lillard Clyde (Shy) Alsup, parents, the late Sewell and Clara Dunaway Adams; son, James K (Nub) Alsup; brothers, Hollis Adams and Buren Adams; and sister, Louise Carter. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Leland) Webb of Lebanon; sons Larry (Sally)Alsup of Murfreesboro , Robert (Stacey) Alsup of Murfreesboro , Sam (Cathy) Alsup of Murfreesboro , and Charles (Blanche) Alsup of Lebanon. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren
Chapel service for Jewell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Kevin Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at the Alsup Family Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130. (615) 893-2422 www.jenningsandayers.com |
