La Vergne to hold Remembrance Ceremony on 9/11

La Vergne is holding a Remembrance Ceremony at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at La Vergne City Hall.
The LaVergne Fire and Police Departments will meet under the U.S. flag by City Hall. At 8:58 a.m., fire department personnel will ring the historic “5-5-5” in honor of their fire service brothers and sisters who gave their lives on that tragic day of Sept. 11, 2001. It is the time the first tower of the World Trade Center fell.
Immediately following the bell, the LPD Honor Guard will fire three volleys of seven in a 21-gun salute to honor the memory of all brothers and sisters in emergency services as they gave their lives in an effort to save others.
The public is invited to attend this solemn Remembrance Ceremony. Together the community of La Vergne remembers.
