La Vergne elected officials will hold a Town Hall Meeting from7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 21 at La Vergne City Hall to address community concerns.
The meeting will be attended by Mayor Senna Mosley and Vice Mayor Chris Farmer as well as Aldermen Tom Broeker, Sherry Green and Dennis Waldron.
City Administrator Steve Mayor is moderating the event. Board members are calling for open, honest discussion about the issues facing both the city and residents, including the economic difficulties both face.
Alderman Broeker hopes that residents will share their ideas and talk about topics of interest to them.
In return, city officials will use the opportunity to explain the recent rate increases for water, sewer, and property taxes; and discuss the state's official endorsement of the city's recovery from being a financially distressed water system.
"Let us use this forum to continue our efforts to improve relations, build trust, and work together for a brighter La Vergne," said Broeker. "I ask you to bring your concerns and a true willingness to find ways we can move this city forward."
This is an open meeting and the public is invited to attend. Seating is limited to 105.
