Eight La Vergne Police cars will soon have computers in them, thanks to an approval by the La Vergne Board of Mayor and Alderman Tuesday night.

The board voted unanimously to get the computers which will aid the officers in getting information about suspects.

"The cost for maintenance and fees is $600 per unit per year," said LPD Chief Ted Boyd, adding that a grant paid for 100 percent of the actual units.
