La Vergne authorities are asking the public for help in identifying a man accused of fraudulently using a credit card to buy various items at a local Kroger last month.

The man is accused of fraudulently using a credit card in the self-checkout on the morning of Jan. 17 at the Kroger grocery store located at 5145 Murfreesboro Road, according to officials with the La Vergne Police Department.

On Friday, officials released still images taken from surveillance footage that shows the man police believe is responsible for the incident.

Police hope someone will recognize the suspect and come forward with information about his identity.

The suspect is described as a white male who was wearing a thick, dark-colored winter coat and a stocking cap at the time of the fraudulent purchase.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division, an arm of the Police Department, at 615-287-8667.
