La Vergne Police are looking for a man who is accused of identity theft.

"This guy is meeting women online at www.singlesonline.net and meeting them at hotels and other places," said Detective David Durham. "In this particular case, the woman had to leave the room for a while and the man -- Marquell Decarlos Mosby, 32, of 1615 Bill Eller in La Vergne -- stole a check and her Social Security card."

Mosby then left the hotel for a short period of of time and applied for credit under her name. She was a customer of a bank in Smyrna at one time and he went to that bank and opened an account and has been withdrawing money with ATM cards.

Police have interviewed his brother who admitted he has done this in the past.

He is charged with six counts of identity theft and one count of forgery. Other charges are still pending. He is still at large. Durham said that anyone who has had contact with Mosby, call the La Vergne Police Department at 793-7744 or the Criminal Investigation Unit at 287-8667.
