LA VERGNE - Is tax season giving you the stink-eye and you feel overwhelmed? Free help is now available to La Vergne residents and it’s just a phone call away.

The La Vergne Senior Center has partnered with the AARP to provide free tax preparation help on Wednesdays through April 10. Appointments are available with certified tax preparers by calling 793-3048.

“This is a great service to all residents in our city,” said Donna Bebout, senior program coordinator. “It is by appointment only, so if you need help filing your taxes, I urge you to call at your first opportunity.”

Greenhouse Ministries and United Way of Rutherford & Cannon Counties also offers free tax preparation for households with an annual income of less than $51,000.

This help is available at 309 S. Spring St. You can call 494-0499 for an appointment or file taxes online at www.uwrutherford.org.
