The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today added a La Vergne man to its list of TBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted fugitives.
He is wanted for trying to rape, kidnap and kill a Lebanon woman earlier this year.
Ronnie D. Cloyd, 55, last known address 1702 Erin Trace, La Vergne is wanted by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Criminal Attempt to Commit Aggravated Rape and Criminal Attempt to Commit Aggravated Kidnapping.
During a domestic dispute with a former co-worker, Cloyd assaulted the victim at her home on March 1, 2008. During the assault, she escaped and retrieved a gun. A struggle ensued and Cloyd took the gun, pointed it at her head and pulled with the trigger. The gun failed to fire and the victim escaped to a neighbor’s house.
Cloyd has a criminal history and could be living in Tennessee, Kentucky or Colorado. He is described as a white male with green eyes and brown hair. He is 5’10” tall and weighs approximately 180 lbs.
