La Vergne bank robbed

Southeast Financial Credit Union, 325 Waldron Road, in La Vergne was robbed at 9 a.m. Friday morning, according to LPD Detective Bob Hayes.

The male suspect wearing a ski mask and gloves, entered the bank, brandishing a semi-automatic handgun. He was dressed in a black jacket, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

He waived the gun at the tellers, demanded the money and produced a plastic bag. The teller complied and the suspect fled and got into a waiting vehicle in the parking lot.

Vehicle description is possibly a later model, dark colored Nissan Xterra.

There is a person of interest that entered the business yesterday that police want to identify, Hayes said.

The person of interest is a black male, 20s, medium to thin build.
