Aldermen Tom Broeker and Dennis Waldron won reelection bids in the most recent city elections on Nov. 6 and were sworn in for their next term on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Judge Mark Rogers officiated the swearing-in ceremony in the Board Room at LaVergne City Hall.

“I want to congratulate both Tom and Dennis on their reelection,” La Vergne Mayor Senna Mosley said. “I am looking forward to working with both of them in the coming years as we move our city forward. We will continue to focus on infrastructure improvements, public safety, and family friendly community events. We have a lot of work to do on behalf of our citizens."

The swearing-in ceremony took place before a public hearing regarding an ordinance to amend the 2012-13 fiscal year Water and Sewer Fund Budget and Capital Plan for improvements to the Water Treatment Plant.

During the regular meeting, La Vergne High School students Cynthia and Humberto Ornelas were also honored for their help with a young child who was lost after slipping out of a carpool van.
