Twenty-five year Rutherford County resident Michael Kusch is seeking to represent the 7th District in the Rutherford County Commission.
A long time proponent for the residents of Rutherford County, Kusch currently is serving in his sixth year as a Rutherford County Planning Commissioner emphasizing responsible growth and has devoted four years to the Rutherford County Public Building Authority (PBA).
Among other services to the community, Kusch is on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce and serves as Chair of the Chambers Economic Development Council.
This active involvement in the county “allows me to keep my finger on the pulse of our vibrant and growing county," said Kusch. "I look forward to continuing my involvement with the leaders and residents of this community in the decision-making process that maintains our County’s economic momentum.”
Kusch adds that our county population is up nearly 20,000 residents from 2010, with a projection of an additional 21,000 in 2019. One of the great attractions of Rutherford County is its location. It is part of such a vibrant growing Middle Tennessee area with a great quality of life. People continue to move here for numerous financial, educational, business, entertainment, economic and recreational opportunities.
The issues Kusch is ready to face as Commissioner are how to keep services to citizens as efficient as possible and at the lowest cost while at the same time, examine the potential needs for expansion to infrastructure, schools, water and sewer and services as the county continues its growth and pursuit of attracting new jobs.
Kusch is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BS in Environmental Design.
With three children that have been through the Rutherford County school system, Kusch knows that we need to keep Rutherford County vibrant with quality schools, shopping, jobs and standard of living “so my children and yours” will want to call Rutherford County home.
Kusch is pleased to have businessman Blake Smith as campaign treasurer and appreciates all the support in the Republican Primary on May 6.
