One juvenile charged with three adults of robbing a Lascassas man June 10 pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and theft.

The boy, his uncle and two other men believed to be gang members from Nashville, were suspected of robbing victim Robert Hunter at his Declaration Drive home while he washed a bowl.

Hunter identified the juvenile as playing football with his son at Oakland High School.

Under a plea agreement, the boy was placed on probation with the Department of Children’s Services. He must testify against the other suspects.

While on probation, the boy must maintain good behavior at school and at home and have no contact with the victim or his family.

Juvenile Court Magistrate Keith Siskin noted the charges were serious.

“Allegations with handgun the court pays very close attention,” Siskin said.

He asked the boy if he understood he must testify truthfully in court against his co-defendants.

The boy indicated he was willing to testify against them. He does not have any prior offenses.

A hearing on restitution is scheduled in December to determine how much the boy owes Hunter for his role in stealing electronic games from his home.

A boy accused of shooting a Taco Bell employee in May pleaded guilty to aggravated assault during a Juvenile Court hearing last week.

The boy was accused of shooting victim Cornelius Coleman, 22, of Bradyville Pike in the right leg after a fight inside Taco Bell’s restroom at the South Church Street restaurant.

Under the plea, the boy was placed on probation and a suspended commitment to the Department of Children’s Services. If he doesn’t keep the rules of probation, he could be committed to the custody of DCS.

I can't believe the actions of these "children." Why are the parents not being held accountable for the actions of those in their charge? When we start to fine and force community service on parents for allowing their child to run wild, maybe they will get the message. I don't advocate locking them up so the children are even less supervised, but they could be picking up trash while the kid is in school where they are supposed to be!
