Noted Murfreesboro musician, Jonny Gowow, has planned an album release party for Saturday, May 24 at Wall Street in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
His latest album, Wide Stance, features 15 tracks and will be available on this occasion. The album has been in the pipeline for around a year now and Gower is excited to bring his newest work to the Murfreesboro faithful.
Wide Stance was wrapped up recently by a Kickstater project where Gower raised over $4,000 within 30 days to assist in funding the distribution.
“It was nerve-racking. I like to focus on the artistic aspect of it so it was a new challenge, but it was rewarding. I learned a lot and succeeded at it,” Gower said about the Kickstarter process.
His distribution deal is also being handled by DART, a local music distribution company. On the same note, Gower’s music will be available in all major formats including iTunes and Spotify.
“It was awesome, and I didn’t realize how many people were willing to help out. You really find a lot of people who believe in you that you necessarily didn’t know that did,” Gower noted about the experience.
Like many Kickstarter campaigns, Gower pulled out the random pledge incentives like other artists as he gave away origami cranes while a $500 pledge would get you a song written about none other than yourself.
Gower says some of his favorite cuts from the album are “Jonny Day” along with “One For The Road,” which is his take on a country tune.
On this evening, Gower will be joined by jazz, funk/fusion group A La Carte and Carter Routh. For his setup, Gower will have a six piece band comprised of fiddle, sax, guitar, bass, drums and piano.
The show begins at 9 p.m. and the cost if $5. For more information, visit jonnygowow.com.
