Johnny Calvin Ashford, age 63, of Christiana, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at his daughter’s residence.

Mr. Ashford was born in Murfreesboro to the late Charlie and Mona Ashford.

Mr. Ashford was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Alice Marie Lester Ashford, and son, Johnny Calvin Ashford Jr. He is survived by his son, Johnny Kevin (Elizabeth) Ashford of Murfreesboro; daughter, Mary (Shane) Arthur of McMinnville; grandchildren, Kevin James Ashford; John Tyler (Kayla) Arthur; Cody Ashford; Holly Marie Arthur; Michael McRoy; Anthony Conley; great grandchildren, Braeden Lee Arthur; Damon Michael Maynard; brothers, David (Ruth) Ashford of Madisonville; Wayne Ashford of Murfreesboro; sisters, Nancy Brown of Smyrna; and Nellie Belle Pitts of Murfreesboro.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, October 12, 2012 from 11:00am – 2:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be Friday, October 12, 2012 at 3:00pm at Evergreen Cemetery with Bro. John Smartt officiating.
