John Thomas Scruggs Sr. 84, of Rockvale passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Scruggs was born in Davidson County to the late Logan and Eula Scruggs and was a lifelong resident of Antioch. He was a member of La Vergne Church of Christ and attended Gilroy Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Scruggs was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Flora C. Scruggs. He is survived by his sons, John Thomas (Ruth) Scruggs Jr. of Rockvale; Roy Dean (Yvonne) Scruggs of Smyrna; Michael Wayne (DiAnne) Scruggs of Rockvale; grandchildren, Dena Lloyd, Jennifer Cronkhite; Leanne Knox; Michael John Scruggs; James Ray Scruggs and great-grandchildren, Ashley and Chelsey.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010 from 3-8 p.m. at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Monday, January 04, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Martin Ray officiating. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
