John Mahlon Sharp, age 91, of Smyrna, died February 18, 2013, at Christian Care of Rutherford County.
He was a native of Maury County and the son of the late John Hade and Curtie Mai Wright Sharp. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Maree Nance Sharp, son, John Nance Sharp, and brother, Grady W. Sharp.
Funeral service will be 10:30am Friday at First United Methodist Church, Smyrna, TN. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery. Pastor Loyd Mabry officiating with eulogist, Van Baggett.
He is survived by his daughter, Ann Sharp Gannon and her husband, Garry of Smyrna, brother, Dr. Harry Sharp and his wife Patty of Memphis, sisters, Madge Sharp Jennings, Audrey Sharp Lovett, both of Columbia.
Mr. Sharp was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Smyrna, TN. A retired Army Master Sargent, serving in the South Pacific during World War II, a retired Certified Public Accountant, and Treasurer of MeHarry Medical College.
Pallbearers will be Keith Jennings, Mark Sharp, Billy Culbertson, John N. Barnett, III, Larry Lee, Wayne Foster, John A. Lee, Jr., Rusty Griffin.
Honorary pallbearers are Les Karnes and the Happy Christian Sunday School Class of Smyrna First United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to Gideons International in his memory.
