Joe E. Owen, of Harvest, Ala., died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at his daughter's home. He was 82.

Grandchildren: Jamie Powers of Tampa, Fla., Bill Powers & Michelle Pittman both of Harvest, Ala., Kristen Owen of Smyrna
Great-grandchildren: Justus Powers, Nate Powers, Lexi Quo & Lilly Owen
Mr. Owen was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie A. & Daisy Patterson Owen; his wife, Mattie D. Haley Owen; siblings, Norman, Ralph, Ravon, James, Doyal & Loyal Owen, Weeda Gunter, Margaret Alexander and Jean Hoskins.
A member of the United Methodist Church, he was a veteran of the US Navy and worked in Maintenance at Murfreesboro Housing Authority.
