Joann West Stevens

Joann West Stevens, 84, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., died Dec. 4, 2013.

She was a native of Nashville, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late, Wilson West and Johnnie Baker West.

Mrs. Stevens was a member of Dalewood Baptist Church and a graduate of Peabody College with a major as a concert pianist. She was retired after 30 years of service from Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools as a music teacher. Mrs. Stevens was an organist and pianist for many churches in the Nashville area.

She is survived by her son, Matt Stevens, of Millersville, Tenn.; daughters, Becky Mills and her husband, Chuck, of Lascassas, Tenn., Jennifer Warner, of Murfreesboro, and Melanie Hesson and her husband, Jerry, of Murfreesboro.

She was lovingly known as "Nana" to Kelsey, Katherine, Samuel and Christopher.

A celebration of Mrs. Stevens’s life will be held at a later date.
