Middle Tennessee women's basketball not only locked up its third-straight Sun Belt East Division title Saturday, but it also wore pink uniforms in support of the WBCA Pink Zone initiative, and after the game, the jerseys were auctioned to raise monies for breast cancer awareness.

The annual auction raised a total of $7,425 with proceeds benefiting The Center for Breast Health at Middle Tennessee Medical Center and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's designated charity.

"As an athletic department, any time Middle Tennessee can use athletics as platforms like this for the greater good of the community, we proudly jump on board," Director of Athletics Chris Massaro said. "A special thanks goes to our corporate partner, Middle Tennessee Medical Center, along with our coaches, players and staff who help put on this special occasion every year."

Each of the game-worn jerseys went up for bid. Of the money raised, $3,725 will be presented to MTMC, while the remaining $3,700 will be donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

In the four years the Blue Raider athletic department has held the jersey auction, a total of $67,342.05 for breast cancer awareness has been raised.

Middle Tennessee knocked off FIU 66-52 to seal a top-two seed in the upcoming Sun Belt Tournament, a bye into the quarterfinal round and clinch its third-consecutive outright East Division crown.

The Blue Raiders will return to action at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at Troy in Troy, Ala.
