Jeans & Tee Heart Ball Nov. 14

As a young heart disease survivor, Jimmy McElhaney decided after his bypass surgery in 2007 he wanted to host an event for the American Heart Association.

The first inaugural event took place in November 2008. Then after his second round with heart disease and a stent later he wanted to keep going.

Rachel and Jimmy McElahney will host the Jeans & Tees vs. Heart Disease event from 6:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Nov. 14 at Stones River Country Club. Tickets are $70 per person.

The casual event featured great food, a relaxed time with friends, a silent auction with unique items and entertainment by “More Cowbell.”

Funds raised at the Jeans & Tees vs. Heart Disease will help the American Heart Association will help fight against heart disease and stroke by advancing medical researching, spreading life-saving knowledge and reaching out to people of all ages to ensure stronger, longer lives.

Tambry Brechon, Heart Ball director, said McElhaney is living proof heart disease knows no stereotype.

“Education is our best defense against heart disease,” Brechon said. “Join us as we put on a great pair of jeans and our favorite tee and take a stand comfortably to fight heart disease.”

Tickets may be obtained by contacting Tambry.brechon@heart.org or at 340-4102 or the McElhaneys at jeansandtees@comcast.net.
