James McAlister Perry, age 79, of Smyrna, died Monday April 29, 2013.
A native of Cheatham County, he was the son of the late Tommy and Tennie Perry.
Mr. Perry is survived by his son, James “Jay” Perry and his wife Tracy of Smyrna; daughter, Tracey Hoyer Trebon and her husband Greg of Dallas; mother of Mr. Perry’s children, Dottie Perry Sims of Smyrna; sisters, Ruby Nell Groves of Joelton, Tenn., and Dorothy Smock of Ashland City, Tenn.; and grandchildren Pierce Hoyer, Georgia Bryn Hoyer, Rhett Hoyer and Polly Craig. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Heather Paris, for her dedication and service to Mr. Perry.
Graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Smith-Neptune Family Cemetery, 1304 Neptune Rd., Ashland City, Tenn., 37015, with Minister Mark Goad officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Smyrna.
Mr. Perry was a member of Giles Creek Baptist Church, a US Army veteran, and a retired truck driver with Consolidated Freight.
