James Yearwood

JAMES MARION YEARWOOD, age 76, of Smyrna, TN. died Thursday November, 12 2009 at his residence. A native of Smyrna, TN. he was the son of the late Marion McCoy “Mac” and Rosa Bogle Yearwood.

Mr. Yearwood is survived by his loving wife and caretaker of 53 years Mary Ella Warrick Yearwood; two daughters and son in laws, Glenda and Thomas Jones of Murfreesboro and Sharon and Donald Smith of Smyrna; one son and his caretaker, James (Jim) William Yearwood of Smyrna; one brother and sister in law, Billy and Darlene Yearwood of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Chris) Winsett of Bell Buckle, Jason Barrett of Smyrna, Andy Russell of LaVergne, Melissa Russell of Smyrna, Candace (Ben) Drew and Courtney and Chelsea Yearwood all of Murfreesboro; and five great grandchildren, Anthony Smith and Cole Smith of Bell Buckle, Chloe Drew of Murfreesboro, and Gracie and Wyatt Winsett of Bell Buckle. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by four sisters.

Funeral Services for Mr. Yearwood will be held Monday at 12:00 Noon at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna with Brother Mike Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday Evening.

Mr. Yearwood was a 1953 graduate of Smyrna High School and served in the Tennessee National Guard from 1953 to 1958. Mr. Yearwood was a 45 year member of Sam Davis Masonic Lodge #661 and was retired from the Avco Company as a supervisor. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors. The family of Mr. Yearwood would like to give a special thanks to the Odyssey Hospice for their care and services. Active Pallbearers will be Jim Yearwood, Jason Barrett, Andy Russell, Don Smith, Anthony Smith, Marty Neal, Mark Agee and Mike Agee.
