James Clifford Jones, age 83 of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday, March 7, 2008 at Stones River Hospital.
A native of Cannon County, he had lived in Rutherford County for many years. He retired from AVCO in Nashville and was a member of Mt. Miriah Baptist Church of Woodbury. He was a U S Army veteran having served in WW II.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Delta Grey and Earlie Ester Hale Jones; brother, Howlett Grey Jones. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Barrett Jones of Murfreesboro; son, Larry Wayne Jones of Murfreesboro; daughter and son-in-law, Terry Elaine and Ronnie Hall of Murfreesboro; brother Oren Hale Jones of Murfreesboro; sister, Dorothy Corrine Melton of Woodbury and grandsons, Gregory James Napper and Brian Layne Napper.
Funeral service for Mr. Jones will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Leonard Herman and John Eades officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family will serve as pallbearers.
