James Calvin Hasty, age 77, of Murfreesboro, passed away on March 9, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Lebanon, Tennessee but resided in Murfreesboro. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a small engine mechanic.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Cleave and Poshia Nipper Hasty; wife, Frances Earlene Hasty; son, Claiborn Dale Hasty; and brothers, Bill and Horace Hasty. He is survived by his son, Allen E. (Kathi) Hasty of Rockvale; daughters, Faye (Brett) Holmes of Auburntown and Delilah Wyrich of Murfreesboro; brothers, David Hasty of Murfreesboro and Dan Hasty of Pulaski; sisters, Virginia Adams and Sue Hill Hasty both of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Alena Gilbert and Josh Holmes; and two great grandchildren, Christopher Allen Gilbert and Logan Price Gilbert.

Chapel service for James will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Bud Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Trimble Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130. (615) 893-2422 www.jenningsandayers.com
