| The Center for the Arts will host Nashville’s Elite Performing Songwriters, Jack & Diane, at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5.
This evening’s show will feature special guests Travis Meadows & Nancy Casteele.
TRAVIS MEADOWS – Growing up in Jackson, Mississippi, Travis laid the foundation for his music career while making the rounds performing with legendary blue’s players such as Sam Myers (Anson Funderburg and the Rockets) and Fingers Taylor (Jimmy Buffett).
He has performed before millions in over twenty countries.
Well-known among songwriter’s circles in Nashville, Travis is an unforgettable performer whose well-crafted songs and raw vocal ability have won him the attention of fans and a coveted songwriting contract with Universal Music Publishing Group.
Having already received numerous accolades for his songwriting, including a 2001 ASCAP award and eight Top 20 hit singles in the Christian market, joining with Universal was a natural progression.
Since joining Universal, Travis has had 24 major label cuts worldwide in his first 3 years, including an album cut on Jake Owen’s Easy Does It album in 2009.
Lee Ann Womack recorded Travis’ There’s A Person There for her upcoming MCA project.
His single successes include an Australian Country top 10 “Blame it On Eve” and a #1 single with “Open ended Heartache” both with Adam Brand on Compass Brothers Records.
In 2010, Sony Music signed Adam Brand to their U.S. roster, and Travis has co-written 6 out of the 13 song project, including the first single, “Ready For Love”.
An incredible Artist himself, Travis has just released a new CD Killin Uncle Buzzy, which is his finest work to date.
NANCY CASTEELE – Nancy was born and raised in Kortrijk, a small city located in the West of Belgium.
She studied and performed music at a young age and visited Tennessee at the age of 17.
In 2000, Nancy was signed as an Artist on Warner Brothers Holland.
She went to beautiful Budapest for the recording of her first video of the single All In One You.
The song became the “fastest climber” of the Dutch pop charts.
In 2003 she signed a deal with Universal Music, Nashville.
In May of 2009 Nancy signed with Huber Entertainment Group and is currently recording under the Butterfly Label.
Jack & Diane have performed together all over the country.
They are winners of the Tin Pan South/Taylor Guitars songwriting competition, and have performed at Tin Pan South.
Jack & Diane were invited performers for the Durango Songwriters Retreat in Telluride, as well as popular Nashville rooms like The Bluebird and The Listening Room.
Recently, Jack & Diane released their newest album, Play For Me.
Each month, Jack & Diane bring their intimate acoustic listening show to The Center for the Arts’ stage.
Bring your date for an evening to unwind with music that revives the soul, lightens the heart, and takes the stress of the workday away.
