J.L. Parton, 80, of Woodbury, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at NHC in Murfreesboro.
Born in Cannon County, Parton is survived by his wife of 61 years Lucille Melton Parton, of Woodbury; children Hugh (Rebecca) Parton and Virginia (Tim) Howell both of Woodbury; siblings Ellen Blanton of Nashville, Oscar Parton and Faye Burger both of Woodbury; brothers-in-law, James Hancock and Billy Reed Melton both of Woodbury; grandchildren rentice (Jordan) Parton, Hope (Justin) Tenpenny, Lauren Parton, Hilary Howell, Ford Parton and Landon Parton; and great-grandchildren Trista Parton & Mason Baccam.
Mr. Parton was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Daisy Tucker Parton and his sister, Jo Ann Hancock.
He worked many years in the insurance business and also in construction. He was a member of the Leoni Church of Christ.
Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 15 at Leoni Cemetery.
Visitation: after 2 pm Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Woodbury Funeral Home
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation, Leoni or Blanton Cemetery.
