Residents interested in learning more about The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro building on Veals Road, can speak directly to members Saturday.

Center representatives will hold open house from 5-8 p.m. Saturday between 5 and 8 p.m. at 862 Middle Tennessee Boulevard.

Plans are currently in place for the Islamic Center to build a mosque, school classrooms, tennis and basketball courts, a small walking track and graveyard in the county.

Preliminary plans have already been approved by the Rutherford County Regional Planning Commission. The Islamic Center will not be built all at once, but in phases as money is raised.
