Identity of two men accused of assaulting a woman and robbing her of her car Friday are being sought by Murfreesboro Police.

One of the men drug victim Lorrie Barrett of Marymont Drive out of her car and both suspects rode away in her 2010 silver Nissan Sentra about 8:20 a.m. Friday from the BP on Middle Tennessee Boulevard, Officer Joshua Borel reported.

Police spokesman Kyle Evans reported the Sentra, destroyed by fire, was recovered in neighboring Coffee County.

Borel reported Barrett picked up two men on East College Street after they asked her to take them to get gasoline. She took them to the Dodge store on Northwest Broad Street and back to their vehicle on East College Street but their car still would not start.

Barrett agreed to drive them to Chelsea Place apartments on Bradyville Pike. They pulled into the BP at nearby Middle Tennessee Boulevard where the passenger sitting in the front seat got out and walked to the driver’s side.

“She stated that at that point, he opened her car door, drug her out of the car, then he got into the car and drove away heading north on Middle Tennessee Boulevard,” Borel reported.

Evans reported one suspect, seen in video footage from the Dodge Store on N.W. Broad Street, is wearing a red button-up shirt and jeans. A second suspect is described as a white male approx 6-feet tall dark hair wearing a blue button-up shirt with jeans.

Anyone with information should call Detective Ed Gorham at 893-2717 or CrimeStoppers at 893-STOP (7867).
