MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Police have released the names of two men who were killed Wednesday night in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Old Fort Parkway.

The victims are Latre R. Lillard, 19, and Andre D. Chesterfield, 19, both of Murfreesboro.

Police confirmed Thursday both men died from apparent gunshot wounds.

Chesterfield played football at Oakland High School and graduated in 2012.

Officials said the investigation is continuing into the circumstances surrounding the killings and no arrests have been made.

“Officers were called to the Wal-Mart at 2000 Old Fort Parkway to investigate two subjects unresponsive on the ground in the parking lot,” said Sgt. Kyle Evans, public information officer for the Murfreesboro Police Department.

“When officers arrived, they found two males on the ground deceased,” he said. “The Violent Crimes Unit and the Crime Scene Unit responded and are investigating.”

A woman called Murfreesboro police after she pulled into the parking lot, saying there were two black men laying face down on the ground, according to a Police Department incident report.

When officers arrived, they reported a large amount of blood on the ground near the head of the victims. There was also a large amount of shattered glass near the two deceased men, according to the report.

The bodies were found next to an older model Ford Ranger and a 1990s model Nissan Maxima.

Detectives confirmed Thursday that they have identified a blue or gray four-door sedan as the vehicle that was likely driven by the suspect, or group of suspects. Based on the video surveillance footage, both the driver’s side and passenger side front windows appear to be broken.

Anyone with information about this incident is to urged to call Crime Stoppers at 615-893-7867. All callers will remain anonymous.
