A husband accused of killing his wife asked a judge Friday to send his case to the grand jury.
Husband William M. Jones, 34, of Detroit, Mich., was charged Monday with first-degree, premeditated murder of his wife, Lashawn Anna Jones, 35, of Gateland Drive, and disposing of her body.
Jones reported his wife missing Oct. 5. Her body was found Sunday off Old Nashville Highway.
The husband opted not to have a preliminary hearing but asked General Sessions Court Judge David Loughry to send his two cases to the grand jury. Loughry agreed, saying the grand jurors will consider Jones’ two charges during December.
In her arrest warrant, Murfreesboro Police Detective Ava Radley reported Jones admitted participating in his wife’s death and disposing of her body.
Radley asked Loughry to hold Jones without bond because he is a flight risk. Loughry signed a document to hold Jones without bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
