A husband suffered a cut requiring staples to the left side of his head after his wife allegedly struck him with a glass mug late Thursday at their home near Rucker Lane, a sheriff’s deputy reported.

The 63-year-old husband and his wife were drinking and watching TV when the husband asked her to hand him the remote, Deputy Jurgen Mootz reported. She pushed the remote toward him but he couldn’t reach it. He asked again and she didn’t comply.

He called her a name and demanded, “bring me those remotes,” the deputy reported. The wife “picked up a glass mug and struck him twice on the head.”

Doctors at Middle Tennessee Medical Center used two staples on the wound.

The husband didn’t want to prosecute his wife.
