Hubert Brown was born on February 8, 1934 to John and Frances Elizabeth McClanahan Brown who both precede him in death.
Hubert was the baby brother to five wonderful and loving sisters four of whom have too preceded him in death; Lois (Philmon) Griggs, Willie matt (Rankin) Mathis, Sarah (Bud) Little, Johnny (Henry) Benson, and the last living sister Mildred (James) Cherry.
He married Doris Hawkins on Nov. 3, 1960 who also precedes him in death. Hubert and Doris were a great example as husband and wife.
Along with his sister, Mildred Cherry, Hubert is survived by two children and a son-in-law. JT Brown, and Carlene Brown-Judkins and her husband Steve Judkins all of Murfreesboro, TN, a granddaughter whom he loved dearly and her husband, Savannah Wilkerson-Whitefield and Jason Whitefield and a great granddaughter that he also cherished Alexia Mae Whitefield all of Smithville, Tn. He is also survived by a Brother-in-law and is wife Steve and Lois Hawkins of Smyrna.
Hubert passed away very peacefully with his two children and son-in-law by his side. He had struggled with Parkinson's disease in recent years though a bout with bronchitis seems to have taken his last breath.
Hubert was a 1952 graduate of Antioch high school and grew up in the community of Bakertown. He dearly loved his hometown and cherished his schoolmates from Antioch, but he always said “home is where I lay my head.”
Hubert worked for many different construction companies from the Nashville area in his younger days while later he and Doris owned the shirt shack in Lebanon throughout the 1980s. In the '90s and until his recent retirement he owned rental and lease purchase property throughout the Middle Tennessee area.
Hubert very selflessly and lovingly cared for Doris during her 4+ year battle with cancer, when she died he said “my buddy is gone.” He also took excellent care of JT after his car accident in the late '80s.
Hubert loved to fish, visit with friends and family, and to make a connection with everyone he could. He loved being able to help people most of all.
Hubert attended Meads Chapel church of Christ in Bakertown in his youth and was a long time member of the Auburntown Church of Christ.
