Hoyte “Wimpy” Holt, age 81, of Murfreesboro, passed away Dec. 11, 2012 at his home.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. Hoyte was a former body shop manager at Lincoln Mercury of Murfreesboro.

Hoyte was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Holt and Cassie Lewis Holt; wife, Lavinia Reynolds Holt; sons, Hoyte Drew Holt and Hoyte Zale Holt; brother, Elmer Holt; and sisters, Nina Leyhew and Dorothy Curtis. He is survived by his daughter, Nita Holt Johns; grandchildren, Keasha Holt Cason, Heather Holt Lowman and Darrell Holt; and great-grandchildren, Damian Lowman, Kylie Lowman, Jadarian Marble, Andrea Holt and Amanda Holt.

Chapel service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Dr. Lenny Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery with family and friends serving as active pallbearers.
