"Buster" Howard A. Lane, age 73, of Smyrna, died Thursday June 7, 2012.
Mr. Lane was a native of Rutherford County, and was the son of the late Avent "Boots" and Eunice Norris Lane. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna. Reverend Bryan Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in Washington-Smith Cemetery at Blackman.
Mr. Lane is survived by his wife Peggy Paulus Lane, sons Andy Lane and his wife Lisa of Seymour, Tenn., Kurt Lane of Worden, Ill,., step son Jack Tracy and his wife Terri of Pleasant Shade, Tenn., daughters Jennifer Lane Adams and her husband Tony of Moore Haven, Fla., and Lori Lane Brown of Edwardsville, Ill., step daughters, Leigh Ann Singleton and her husband Mike of Murfreesboro, Lisa Mathis of Lavergne, Lavina Stroud and her husband Justin of Murfreesboro, Lynette Corbitt of Murfreesboro, brothers Avent Lane and his wife Marlene of Murfreesboro, and Scott Lane and his wife Pook of Collierville, Tenn., and one sister Lynda Paschal and her husband Glen of Hickson,TN, 21 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mr. Lane was a member of Blackman United Methodist Church. He was a 1958 graduate of Central High School, attended MTSU and served in the Tennessee Army National Guard. He was a retired tool-and-die engineer. Buster loved the Lord and his family. He was a dancer as many of his friends witnessed. He loved the people of the community and was especially proud of his roots in Rutherford County. Memorials may be made to Blackman United Methodist Church Building Fund or Martin College scholarship fund in memory of Mr. Lane.
