“What is this and how can I get rid of it?” is a question the Ag Extension hears frequently from homeowners.

What they’re referring to is an unwanted plant growing in their lawns or landscape beds; in other words, a weed.

In order to aid them in their fight against weeds, the UT/TSU Extension staff in Rutherford County is pleased to announce an educational meeting from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, focusing on identifying and controlling weeds in lawns and landscapes.

Participants will have the opportunity to see fresh samples of common lawn and landscape weeds as well as learn up to date recommendations and control options for their weed problems.

The meeting will be held in the Lane Agri-Park auditorium located at 315 John R. Rice Blvd. in Murfreesboro.

This free program is open to anyone interested in learning more about lawn and landscape weed control.

If you’re interested in attending, call the Extension office at 615-898-7710 between 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday in order to insure enough handout materials are prepared.
