Homer Wray Burns, age 80, of Nashville, died October 15, 2012. Mr. Burns was a native of Rockvale and was the son of the late Homer Woodfin and Evie Lee Burns. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Cleone Beatrice Burns.
Mr. Burns is survived by his wife Hilda Patrick-Burns; children Garry (Amy Lynn) Burns of Gallatin, Jerry (Yvonne) Burns of AL, Mike (Donna) Burns of Hendersonville, Homer Martin (Judy) Burns of TX, Donna (Larry) Smith of Charlotte, and Janice (Terry) Sadler of Winchester; brother Randall Burns of NC; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:30 PM Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Woodfin Funeral Chapel. Rev. Phillip Martin will officiate. Burial will follow at the Burns Cemetery in Rockvale.
Visitation will be 12:30 PM until time of service on Wednesday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to Gideons International or The Good Shepherd Children's Home of Murfreesboro in memory of Mr. Burns.
